Location Ottawa, ON – Hybrid Reports To Director of Communications Summary The Liberal Party of Canada is seeking a Communications Manager for an opportunity to join a dedicated team of staff to support Justin Trudeau and our Liberal team’s work to keep Canada moving forward. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role will provide key support and project management to the cross-channel communications efforts of the Liberal Party of Canada – supporting communications products, social media and digital communications, media relations, issues management, creative products, events, and a variety of communications projects across the organization. Support the Director of Communications and Director of Projects and Strategic Communications to ensure message, tone, and narrative consistency across the party. Conceptualize, develop, and execute key communications plans for a variety of platforms and audiences. Lead the drafting and review process for communications content and products, including for social media channels, digital engagement, creative communications, and our website. Prepare and track responses to media inquiries, respond to journalists, and monitor media reporting on the Liberal Party of Canada. Support media and communications requirements at major Liberal events. Help lead the team that supports candidates with policy, messaging, media relations, and campaign tools inquiries Other duties as required. You’ll need to have An ability to speak and write in both of Canada’s official languages is required. A strong working knowledge of current events and Canadian politics. 3-5 years of political experience. Strong Project Management skills. Proficiency as a writer in both long and short form, particularly with regard to press releases, advisories, speeches, and other media materials. Resourcefulness and strong troubleshooting skills, and with the ability and judgment to make quick decisions. Strong presentation and communication skills, and experience with volunteer facilitation.
