The Liberal Party of Canada is seeking an Email Engagement Coordinator for an opportunity to join a dedicated team of staff to support Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team.

As an Email Engagement Coordinator on Justin Trudeau’s team, you’ll be joining one of the top political digital marketing teams in the country, telling stories from across Canada, sharing information about the Liberal Party to our supporters, growing grassroots fundraising support, and offering new and interesting ways for Canadians to engage with the Liberal Party online. You’ll be at the forefront of leading our work to keep Canada moving forward!

You’ll be maintaining the party’s voice across various types of marketing content including emails, web copy and SMS messages. You’ll be testing content to determine what works best, and you’ll be analyzing results to form data-driven insights to build future engagement and fundraising campaigns.

From conception to deployment, you’re the writer, the architect and inspector for LPC email and SMS campaigns. You’ll produce top-notch content while working on the cutting edge of digital political engagement and grassroots fundraising.

  • Create digitally-engaging marketing copy for fundraising and communications campaigns that drives supporters to a call to action (donation campaigns, mobilization, petitions, and more).
  • Tell the story of our movement, our government’s progress, and the work of Liberal teams across the country in a personable and creative way. You must be able to frequently adapt your writing style to the organization’s voice and message.
  • Execute your ideas from start to finish using the latest digital marketing tools and coding emails using HTML and CSS templates to build and edit campaigns.
  • Build and optimize single-send emails, text messages, as well as marketing automation/journeys.
  • Diligently review and test content to meet the Party’s digital communications standards.
  • Build audiences and report on campaigns using CRM tools and Google Analytics, and using your findings to make data-driven decisions to optimize future campaigns.
  • Assist with drafting various other types of digital content including landing pages, donate pages, SMS campaigns, and blog posts.
  • Work with LPC’s graphic design team to create compelling visual experiences.


  • A passion for engaging millions of Canadians, supporting the Liberal Party of Canada and changing the country for the better.
  • A strong working knowledge of current events and Canadian politics.
  • Experience writing marketing communications copy and digital storytelling, ideally for email marketing and a deep understanding of what message reaches which people best at the right time.
  • A knack for the latest digital technology and tools ー you’re comfortable learning and using the marketing tools to execute big ideas from start to finish.
  • A keen attention to detail that zeroes in on accuracy and tests content to meet digital standards.
  • Knowledge or familiarity working with HTML & CSS and the ability to work in both official languages are considered strong assets.
  • A collaborative mindset that’s eager to bring new ideas to the table ー you find inspiration in everything and you know how to execute your plans!
  • A curiosity and drive that seeks out the latest digital marketing trends and an understanding of what Canadians want to see in their inbox.

Working Conditions

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and operational objectives.
  • Must excel at building consensus in a multi-stakeholder team environment and managing competing priorities.
  • May be required to work unusual hours and periods at an accelerated pace.

NOTE ー This position is based in Ottawa. With regional restrictions still in place during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, new employees will have the option of temporarily carrying on duties from home at the moment, however will be required to relocate to Ottawa in the future.
