Summary

The Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) is seeking an Email Engagement Coordinator to join a dedicated team of staff to support Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team.

You’ll be maintaining the Party’s voice across various types of marketing content, including emails, web copy, and SMS messages. You’ll be testing content to determine what works best and analyzing results to form data-driven insights to build future engagement and fundraising campaigns.

In this role, you’ll be telling stories from across Canada, sharing information about the Liberal Party to our supporters, growing grassroots fundraising support, and offering new and innovative ways for Canadians to engage with the Liberal Party online.

From conception to deployment, you’re the writer, architect and inspector for LPC email and SMS campaigns. You’ll produce top-notch content while working on the cutting edge of digital political engagement and grassroots fundraising.

What you’ll be doing

  • Write digitally-engaging marketing copy for fundraising and communications campaigns that inspires supporters to take action (donation campaigns, mobilization efforts, petitions, and more).
  • Tell the Liberal Party’s story in a personable and creative way while frequently adapting your writing style to the organization’s voice and message.
  • Execute your ideas from start to finish using the latest digital marketing tools and coding emails using HTML and CSS templates to build and edit campaigns.
  • Build and optimize single-send emails, text messages, and marketing automation/journeys.
  • Diligently review and test content to meet the Party’s digital communications standards.
  • Use CRM tools to build audiences, report on campaigns, and use your findings to make data-driven campaign decisions.
  • Assist with drafting other types of digital content, including landing pages, donate pages, SMS campaigns, and blog posts.
  • Managing multiple competing projects under deadline pressure.
  • Work unusual hours and periods at an accelerated pace, as required.

You’ll need to have

  • University degree or a combination of education, certification, and professional work experience.
  • A strong working knowledge of current events and Canadian politics.
  • A deep understanding of what messages reach which people best at the right time.
  • A curiosity for the latest digital trends, technology and tools ー you’re comfortable learning and executing big ideas from start to finish.
  • A keen attention to detail that zeroes in on accuracy and tests content to meet digital standards
  • A collaborative mindset that’s eager to bring new ideas to the table ー you find inspiration in everything and know how to execute your plans!
  • Knowledge of, or familiarity working with, HTML & CSS, an asset.
  • The ability to work in both official languages (English & French), an asset.
